DESCRIPTION Provide training on warranty claims preparation and use of the TEPS Service Warranty Guide plus access to the Caterpillar system to enter warranty claims on-line and truck engine service inquiry.

OBJECTIVES Upon successfully completing this course, the student will be able to:
  1. Check warranty identification and determine the type of warranty
  2. Establish warranty labour rate and labour rate changes
  3. Source Warranty TRG’s - https://truck.cat.com
  4. Source Warranty Updates - https://truck.cat.com
  5. Review Parts Warranty expenses, i.e. Labour, Travel, Freight, Shop Supplies & Sublets
  6. Review Warranty Emergency orders for reman parts
  7. Review Truck Engine Warranty Statements
  8. Review SIMSi menu - uploading of EMC download information
  9. Review On-line "Electronic" training
  10. Review the On-line Warranty Certification test in E-learning
  11. Review procedures of preparing a "Clean Claim"
  12. Check TEPS Warranty 3-day return procedures for cores and parts
  13. Provide documentation required for warranty claims & audits
  14. Establish delivery dates and engine miles
  15. Complete the claim form
  16. Source Claim codes for reasons, descriptions & SMCS
  17. Claim for Parts Stock Warranty
  18. Check for Warranty credits, supplemental claims and cancelled claims
  19. Review Warranty Performance Reports
  20. Claim for defective parts stock warranty.
  21. Locate information in TEPS Service Warranty Guide
  22. Enter warranty claims on-line, re-submit and do inquiries on warranty claims
  23. Request service claim reports by claim number, serial number, description, warranty date and delivery date 
  24. Locate by engine serial number, standard and/or extended warranty verification, past repair history and delivery dates 
  25. Locate current service information such as Truck Engine News, Service Letters, PIP’s, PSP’s and Technical Information Bulletins
WHO SHOULD ATTEND This course is for Warranty Administrators, Service Supervisors and Lead Hands. The course is also recommended for Accounting Management for the reports available on warranty claims processed by their Dealership.

COURSE REGISTRATION:

You may register for courses online by selecting a course, then a date and clicking the "Register Now" button.

Enrollments are accepted right up until 2 days prior to the start date of the course, however, class sizes are limited, so early enrollments are encouraged.

Class schedules are subject to change without notice and a minimum of 10 days notice is required for cancellation. Dealers will be billed for the full fee if cancellation notice is not received within 10 days of course date.
